Product Description
Handcrafted Haitian metal wall art featuring a farmer surrounded by birds, created by renowned Haitian sculptor Michee Remy (1944–2012). Known for his distinctive primitive and outsider art style, Remy’s work captures everyday Haitian life through expressive figures and storytelling.
This sculpture is made from recycled steel oil drums using traditional Haitian metalworking techniques developed in the 1950s. Each piece is individually cut, hammered, and finished by hand, creating rich textures and making every artwork unique.
Remy’s work is widely admired for its authenticity, cultural storytelling, and sustainable use of recycled materials. His sculptures are collected for their artistic significance and connection to Haitian folk art traditions.
Suitable for indoor or outdoor display. The piece includes a protective coating; for outdoor use, applying a clear spray enamel once a year will help preserve the finish. Produced following fair trade practices that support Haitian artisans.
